Last week our friends got married. It was pretty darn exciting, and Sarah and I are kind of jealous. The wedding was really pretty and in Texas, which meant that it wasn’t snowing like it is hear in Chicago.
Grace and Ben seemed to have a well thought out aesthetic for their wedding, from the hand-drawn map to the ceremony and reception (this came with the invitation that was printed on a diy handkerchief) to the colorful cotton and rope banners that adorned the trees of the ceremony site and inside the reception hall.
But it wasn’t just a beautiful wedding, it was a fun one, too. The reception had great food and drinks, and dancing babies. You just can’t beat that. Congratulations Grace and Ben, may there be many happy years ahead.

“Grace and Ben each tied a piece of red string around an ankle. Grace explained, in an ancient Japanese/Chinese tradition there is a belief that the Gods tie a red string around the ankles of couples that are meant to marry.”

(Psst, Grace! Sarah wants to know which Etsy shop these earrings came from?)

The maid-of-honor, Grace’s sister Natalie, kept busy and kept everyone looking sharp.

Pretty perfect, no?

Eeww! Kissing.
i know this girl! such a lovely wedding! i didn’t go, but one of my best friends did. she said it was wonderful.
Oh wow! It is a small world indeed! And the wedding was wonderful. Brian and I have been best friends with Grace since our freshman year in college. It was such a happy day.
that wedding looks DANK
miss you grace.
DANK is a perfectly accurate word for describing the wedding. And I miss Grace, too! We probably won’t see her again for two years. Japan stole her.
You’re such sweeties, Sare and Bri! It wouldn’t have been dank without you. Thanks so much for the beautiful post.
(miss you all!)
oh yeah, the earrings are from O V Gillies.
