A Westervin Wedding: Let You In

vintage postcards and hankie save-the-date

[Editor's Note. Please go ahead and queue up the song at the bottom of the post. Think of it as the post's soundtrack.] Sarah and I want to keep everybody interested in our wedding even though it is more than a year away. So, we thought we’d tease you a little bit. Well, perhaps tease is the wrong choice of words. Sarah and I would like to give you a sneak peak at what we’ve been up to.

This past weekend, we were very busy scouring Indiana and Michigan for thrift shops, flea markets, and antique malls, all in an effort to find some vintage postcards, linens, and other ephemera that we could use or repurpose for the wedding. Why, you ask? Well I can’t just tell you! It wouldn’t be a surprise then, would it?

What I can say is that you can see some of the resulting postcard collection above accompanied by some very colorful napkins and handkerchiefs. These weren’t just colors we happened upon either, they were all selected from the Manual of Wedding Style and Aesthetic Matters 2nd Ed. (© Westervin 2010), which we cobbled together some time ago. Below you’ll find the main color palette and their corresponding wish-we-could-name-paint-samples-all-day names

P.S. (from Sarah): A hearty thanks to everyone who entered last week’s giveaway, and a big hug for Marina of tothemetal for the beautiful prize!  I wish I could pick more than one winner, but with any luck, we’ll have a few more giveaways in the future.  I love having the chance to thank our kind readers.  I’ll email the winner tonight!
