I’m holed up at home today with food poisoning, which, in case you’re wondering, is THE WORST. However, my stomach seems to be on the mend, and I wanted to take a minute to share this fun event with you. Chicago peeps, this is for you. If you’re free tomorrow night (February 7th) from 5-9pm, head to this pop up art market, BIG BIG CITY: Chicago. Do it.
The market is organized by Rebecca of BIG THINGS and Chicago artist Debbie Carlos, who you should remember from our Maker’s Remarks interview. I first “bumped into” Rebecca through the Great Necklace Exchange of 2011– she created a pretty impressive necklace herself. Rebecca asked if I wanted to participate in the event (exciting!), but I sadly have class tomorrow night (poo!).
This event is very impressive, from the vendor list and location, to the way it’s been organized and promoted. This is an event with true heart, as the raffle benefits 826Chi, a local nonprofit writing and tutoring center, and the goal of the event series is to “celebrate and connect the vibrant arts communities of the USA.”
Yes please!
