Swell Dwelling: Soft & Simple

These interior shots by Maryam Salassi are dreamy, no?  The styling is simple but not stark — there’s a lot of personality in the few items that adorn her home.  And the lazy morning light gives the photographs a comfy, vintage feel.

Swell Dwelling: Hot!

Yes, yes and hellz yes!  Maybe I’d spend more time with Brian in the kitchen if I had these to play with.  Found via Where the Lovely Things Are, Envelop has a rainbow of aprons, oven mitts and other home accessories printed with artists’ illustrations.  They’ll have me cooking and looking good in no time!

Swell Dwelling: Antique Pink

That’s it.  I’m moving in with Lush Bella (see her photos below).  And if she turns me away, I’ll sneak in when she steps out to walk her dog.  I’ll haul a suitcase of clothes and a few valuables through the window and hide under the bed when she comes back.

Oh wait.  That’s creepy.

Swell Dwelling: Silver Lining

I’ve got two words for you: Wall Pillows.  That’s right, I said it.  But I didn’t invent it.  Someone behind Stepanka Ceramics did.

Swell Dwelling: Play Tent

My inner child is throwing a tantrum because I can’t get this play tent for her — on the floor, fists trembling, screeching so tremendously I’m afraid her tonsils might pop out.  Let’s hope this calms down before dinner.

Swell Dwelling: Growing Green

Now don’t get me wrong, I love blogging all day in my jammies, but the lack of fresh air from staying home all day is doing a number on my indoor allergies.  So when the latest sinus headache subsided, I was delighted to hear (from clever Brian) that many plants make great air purifiers, offering an affordable (and more attractive) alternative to all those fancy-pants electronic purifiers.  This may be common sense to some, but ever since my last disastrous run-in with a ward of the leafy variety — my first and only plant, Vern the unsuspecting Aloe Vera — I’ve feared owning another living thing, lest it turn a sickly brown and it’s body parts start falling off.  However with Brian by my side, I’m ready to give it another go.  We’re happy to announce that the Westervin clan is expanding, and we’re expecting to bring home a baby plant or two very soon!  Would a baby shower be too much?

SwellDwelling-Planters1

These self-watering planters should make things a bit easier!  With a sleek design, a variety of fetching colors and only $25 each, I can’t stop at just one.  I’m thinking a Spider Plant and a Peace Lily will make excellent additions to our living room.  { from A+R }

And you can’t deny the preciousness of this egg planter from Branch.  I’m sticking this little cactus in the bedroom window asap!
