This must be King Tut’s younger, more flamboyant brother. I think his name was TutAH. Now that’s royalty with pizazz!

Can we talk about how shockingly cool this is? I’m mesmerized.

Don’t go off on your weekend adventures just yet! We’ve got a special Book Shop post coming up later… And this collage by Anthony Zinonos right here! I’m not sure why, but it makes me want ice cream. Good thing we have orange sherbet! Jealous?

More embroidery and feminine exploration, you say? Well, I’m here to deliver. Maria Gil Ulldemolins‘s cross-stitched barbie is both strange and beautiful… an intriguing contemplation of femininity. I don’t know about you, but I wanna see more. Found via Design for Mankind.

This one’s for you, Suz.
Don’t forget to check back on Monday, everyone, for our very-special-super-duper-awesome-cool giveaway!

Jamal Vrno is about as mysterious and magical as his subject here. All that anyone can find out about him is that his name might be Perry? Maybe this is a self portrait?? Maybe he can’t venture out into the real world becuase he has laser beam eyes! He has to hide his deadly powers, his deep dark secret from society. And maybe he’s desperately lonely and wants to reach out, wants to TELL us that he’s there, tell us his secret… tell us with the help of his only friends… his brightly colored markers. We won’t judge you, Perry. Or is it Jamal?

Starting a feature here on the Westervin blog. One that adds just a little burst of happiness to the day in the form of art & photography. Not totally sure what to call it, yet. For now, using “Yayza!”, a joyous term born from “Yay!” and “Yowza!”. I’m trying to get it into circulation. Any thoughts? Re: photo below or feature’s name.
