Hey kiddos!  We’re sorry we’ve been a bit absent for most of the week.  Mommy and Daddy just needed a little break.  We were riding along just fine — having a great weekend, getting stuff done, basking in some great luck — and then we got slapped in the face with some serious head colds.  DANG!  But don’t be sad, friends.  We’re getting better, and we’ll be back next week with more super-duper Westervin content.  We ain’t quitters!  In fact, I’ve got quite an exciting day ahead… at my new job!  That’s right!  This little bumble bee has got herself a real job.  Not just being pretty all day ;) but being pretty (it’s my first position that requires looking nice and professional) and productive!  Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, babies!  But just because Mommy gets to bring home the bacon doesn’t mean she’s abandoned you.  We’ll still be here every weekday to delight and divert!

Swig & Swill: Sick Day

{Still feeling sick? Greg Lawler}

Westervin is sick today. We don’t want to come out and play. Don’t fret, though. We’ll return shortly.

Hot Toddy

1 teaspoon white granulated or demerara sugar
3–4 oz. boiling water
2 oz. cognac, single-malt scotch, or pot-stilled rum, rye, or bourbon

To a warmed toddy glass, add the sugar, boiling water, and spirits. Stir with a toddy stick and serve.

P.S. Don’t drink too many of these, or you may end up with your head in a bucket.
